The Abenaki Museum, Quebec’s first Native museum, has been explaining the different dimensions of Abenaki history and culture since 1962. Located in a former school, in the heart of the community, it boasts an extensive ethnological collection. A Catholic church nearby has a magnificent carved frieze that never fails to impress visitors. In the adjacent park, overlooking the Saint-François River, are traditional homes and sculptures in a relaxing atmosphere. Take the time to attend craft demonstrations, and learn about the rich traditions of one of the 11 First Nations of Quebec.
