A cloister, a school, a hospital...

Come to a more than three hundred year-old place and immerse yourself in the life of the Ursulines. Moving testimonials of a time not so long ago when walls surrounded the Ursulines Monastery, when praying, teaching and caring for the sick were an integral part of these nuns’ daily lives. Discover their chapel surmounted by a dome, now an Old Trois-Rivières.

Programmation
Personalized tours in the historic chapel of the Ursulines and the old boarding school. Permanent exhibition "Over 300 years of memory" with unique and essential interviews with nuns still living the Monastery. Temporary exhibition presenting a new aspect of the community each year.
Permanent Exhibitions
  • On the School Benches On the School Benches For over 300 years, the Ursuline Sisters have been devoting their efforts to the education of girls in Trois-Rivières. In 1697, the Ursulines opened the first school for girls in the region. This virtual exhibit presents an online experience of student life in schools run by the Ursulines during three centuries of history.
  • Over 300 Years of Memory Over 300 Years of Memory Over 300 Years of Memory, will take you on a journey through the community's tangible, intangible and archival heritage. Temporary exhibitions
  • Une vie au rythme de la prière From the Council of Trent to Vatican II, the existence of the Ursulines, cloistered nuns, was lived to the rhythm of prayer. From dawn with Laudes until sunset with Vespers, the nuns had their prayers sung that punctuated each of their day and time of year.
